Stockyard Burgers & Bones

Update 6/7/16: Stockyard has opened a second location in Vinings at 2850 Paces Ferry Road.

Every time we visit the Marietta Square, I find myself wishing either: A. that I lived within walking distance to the Square, or B. that the Square itself was conveniently located directly outside my neighborhood.

Stockyard Burgers & Bones Scoop OTPBeing able to walk to all of the unique restaurants, bars and shops would just be so fun. The addition of Stockyard Burgers & Bones reiterates how great the businesses on the Square are.

Stockyard Burgers & Bones has been highly anticipated, especially by folks who are already fans of their sister restaurants Taqueria Tsunami and Pressed Panini Bar. Stockyard has a completely different feel and flavor.

The atmosphere is rustic yet modern, with a lot of wood accents and industrial light fixtures. As usual for our Scooping purposes, we were there during lunch and didn’t get to partake in one of their signature cocktails or the impressive list of 40 bourbons and whiskeys. All the more reason to go back one evening on the weekend!

Stockyard Burgers and Bones Scoop OTPThe menu was full of multiple items I wanted to try, which says a lot since I am so picky. Lots of variety with their burgers, as you would expect, but also some unique side items. “Cowboy Caviar”(lamb testicles!), Sriracha-Artichoke Hummus, and Chepe’s Frites.

We really just need to start taking more people with us so that we can order one of everything! I finally settled on a “Not-so-plain Jane” burger and a salad, just so I could get a good taste for it.

The burger was great, and the salad was perfect. The frites were, to the dismay of my diet efforts, amazing. Suzanne got a tuna burger on top of a salad, which she loved.

stockyardsaladAnother fun offering: they have four different dipping sauces, and a bacon-onion jam that really help to differentiate the burger and fries from the rest of the pack. The menu also has plenty of non-burger choices too, including sushi grade tuna, chicken, pork and a variety of salads. Even kale salad, for you health nuts.

So if you love a good burger and appreciate variations of it, you’ll really enjoy Stockyard Burgers & Bones. The atmosphere is warm and the food is great. We are definitely going back with our other halves as soon as we can for a date night, and you should too. And tell them Scoop sent you!

Stockyard Burgers & Bones is located at 26 Mill Street in Marietta.
