Taqueria Tsunami – A Latin Asian Treat!

1236011_433024376808845_1174049146_nI am always craving food from more than one region and can never decide what I want to eat! Taqueria Tsunami combines flavors from both the Far East and South of the Border, so this place is a huge winner for me. The fusion of tastes is literally a tidal wave of flavors!

Their first OTP restaurant debuted in Marietta in 2011, and their second location opened at the Shoppes of Atlanta. With another one in Athens (plus now a new store opening in Downtown Athens on East Clayton Street), the fourth OTP location will be on Holcomb Bridge in Roswell, and the fifth is way OTP at the Shoppes of Louisville. We love to see the growth of this great restaurant.

Fresh ingredients, tortillas with no preservatives, cocktails with fresh fruit, and their Tsunami Trio has propelled this restaurant to success for creator Chef / Owner Scott Kinsey. Whether you want the Thai Chicken, BBQ short rib, Korean rib, Shrimp Tempura, Tofu taco, or many many others, they have your flavors from fresh fish to all meat products.

My growing son wanted to order one of every kind! We got the Tsunami Trio that offers two tacos and a side. I tricked him into getting the Yuca — a cactus-like fry. He actually liked it with their secret sauce served on the side.

And they have way more than just tacos. They have a variety of appetizers, hearty bowls, salads, and side items. I am craving their avocado cilantro egg roll and their noodle salad now as I peruse their menu again!

And we love when restaurants give back to the community. Not only does Taqueria Tsunami offer Tuesday Tykes, where each kid can eat free with an adult entree, but they also help charities. A portion of sales from their top selling tacos are donated to the Georgia Red Cross. As you know Tsunami’s can be disastrous, but in the case of Taqueria Tsunami, it is a Latin Asian treat.

You’ll love their funny sense of humor too, which you can see tidbits of on their Facebook page and through the funny sayings on their employees’ shirts. And speaking of employees, the service was great.

Enjoy, and tell them the Scoop girls sent you!
