I know I am in the minority, but I don’t drink coffee. I just love a good cup of tea. During these cold winter months, I love to go to Tea Leaves & Thyme in Woodstock, GA and enjoy lunch or an afternoon cup of tea. It is a traditional English tearoom.
The historic house, the tea gift shoppe, the dress up clothes, and the three-tiered trays with dainty food and delicious desserts make this the perfect tea house. My mother-in-law and I go every time she is in town; she loves their black tea Assam. I am partial to the fruity tea flavors.
With more than 70 flavors, it is hard to choose! They always have special flavors of the week which is great way to try something new. You can try one pot and then pick a different flavor when you are done. It’s fun to try the other flavors that your dining guests choose too.
I like to get the afternoon tea which is a great sample of both sweet and savory delicacies. A tomato tartlet or chicken salad sandwich or salad can be added to that order. They have a full menu with many different choices that men, women and kids can enjoy. And don’t even get me started on their freshly baked scones with lemon curd and Amaretto cream. Delicious!
The feel of the restaurant really does slow down your heart-rate and time. It is so nice to just relax holding a cup of hot tea. Everyone gets a different tea cup and the patters are so pretty. This is a great place for showers, a celebration, any “girly” event! I brought my daughter there when she graduated pre-school, hosted a fashion show for a charity, and have brought every family I know in for a visit. The whole atmosphere creates special memories.
They also have a large variety for sale in their store as well as other tea related products and cute gifts for anyone. I always manage to find something unique to purchase! They have lots of children’s special events too, so check out their calendar. Enjoy the tea and the scoop!
