Blinky’s – Food Served Fresh

After a busy morning of watching my mother-in-law and daughter in an aerial yoga class, I was ready for a good lunch to fill the empty calories I burned as a spectator. I found it at Blinky’s, an American fast food restaurant in Snellville.

My MIL, Georgia, told us about how Blinky’s Philly cheesesteak sandwiches were to die for, and so we arrived hungry and ready to feast. The restaurant is located in a small strip mall in Snellville and appears unpretentious, both inside and out. However, the place was packed, which is a common occurrence I am told.

All three of us ordered the Philly Cheesesteak Combo, which comes with a side and a drink. For our sides to share, Georgia ordered a side of onion rings, Riley ordered corn nuggets, and I ordered fried okra. We had to wait for our order to be made from scratch (no pre-prepared left-under-warmers food here!), but the meal was well worth the wait.

The sandwiches were huge, hot, and heavenly! With just one bite of the cheesesteak sandwich, I could tell the ingredients were fresh and cooked at the just the right temperature for just the right amount of time. Not greasy, not dry… just perfect!

The sides were also cooked to perfection. I don’t think I’ve ever eaten an onion ring in which the actual onion crisply breaks off with every bite — with most onion rings elsewhere, the entire onion ring slips out of the shell at the first bite. Not at Blinky’s! At Blinky’s, every bite of the onion ring contains the crisp shell AND onion. I truly don’t know how they do it!

My daughter ordered the corn nuggets, which contained cream corn in each nugget. I’ve never had such a thing before, but now I am craving that sweet inner goodness that bursts through the outer crispy cover at the first crunch.

Finally, the fried okra was so good that even my daughter and MIL ate them — which is saying something surprising entirely!

Not to be outdone by their food, the personnel at Blinky’s are humorous and friendly, and they take pride in making everyone feel like family. In fact, Blinky’s is a small business owned and operated by Bobby and Carlise, who live up to the old-fashioned way of making customers happy through making delicious food served with excellent hospitality.

Go ahead and try Blinky’s when you are in their neck of the woods. They would love to welcome you to their family of customers, and you will leave with a stuffed and satisfied tummy!
