We believe this is the last time that Tom Cruise will be in Ball Ground filming his movie Mena.  He held a meet and greet in dowtown Ball Ground and residents and fans flocked there again to catch a glimpse and a photo or two! Some lucky fans even got autographs.

Cruise arrived in a black Cadillac Escalade as they had a few scenes to re-shoot for the movie. Thank you to the Cruisin’ Ball Ground Facebook page for their updates and photos.  The movie is supposed to be released in January 2017 and we can’t wait to watch it.

recent article stated that Georgia is now third in the U.S. for film production, with only New York and California having more films being made in their state. The movie industry has made about $6 billion dollars for the state of Georgia, OTP has been a part of that.

It is an exciting time for films OTP.  The Tom Cruise film, Mena, is a drug thriller film directed by Doug Liman and written by Gary Spinelli.  The film focuses on the life of Barry Seal,  a former TWA pilot who became a drug smuggler in the 1980s. He was recruited later on by the DEA to provide intelligence. Cruise plays Barry Seal.  Another film made OTP is  The Founder with Michael Keaton about Ray Kroc and McDonalds. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for filming more movies OTP!

Everyone on the Cruisin’ Ball Ground page said that Tom was very nice and generous taking time to meet his fans! The featured slider and social media photo was also taken by Jennifer Adriana Rosell Thanepohn. Her son, Spencer, an upcoming freshman at Creekview High School, played an extra in the movie as young flight student. We are working on a story about the local extras, so stay tuned!
