We often get suggestions of places that we need to Scoop. When a business gets recommended to us three or four times, we realize we’d better check it out. Such was the case with Wilbur & Rudy’s Farmtable in Alpharetta.
I won’t sugar coat it: I am not a farmer. Nor am I a veggie enthusiast. I can barely meander my way through a farmer’s market for fear of all of the vegetables coming to life and forcing themselves on me. With that mentality, I was anxious to see what all the excitement was about what I envisioned was just a big farm stand on the corner of the road.
Wilbur & Rudy’s has been on Hickory Flat Highway in Alpharetta for about a year. And while they do carry plenty of locally sourced fresh produce, that is only a small portion of their business. They also carry a large variety of dry foods and Farm Fresh Beef from Ball Ground, GA. Artisan cheese and fancy organic ice creams are also available. Now we’re talkin’!
Even more exciting to me was the organic coffee stand in the store. And this isn’t just plain black coffee, but a huge variety of coffee drinks, lattes, frappes, smoothies, tea and delicious looking baked goods. And if you’re there at breakfast or lunch, they have sandwiches for both!
We didn’t even realize all these food options would be available, so we plan to go back and eat next time. Plus, there were several gluten free options on the menu. And unless stated, everything they serve is organic.
The other side of the store is filled with gifts and home decor. Adorable, locally made items that make perfect gifts, especially for those hard-to-shop for people. Candles, handmade soaps, organic skin care products, antiques, and seasonal decor fill the store. There was so much to look at, I really can’t wait to go back!

Wilbur & Rudy’s is literally a one-stop shop. You can pick up groceries, a gift, your fancy coffee drink, your wine for the weekend, and grab a bite to eat all in one place! Oh how I wish they were closer to my house — veggies and all.
