Isn’t it great to love your job? Wendy Marovich does! She creates art out of recycled windows and frames. This hot trend of re-purposing products is all over Pinterest — but there are those who pin it, and then there are those who create it. Thank goodness for Wendy, because I love all of her products, but I am not crafty.
Creativity runs deep in Wendy’s family. She says, “Being creative is endless fun. It’s what makes me happy and challenged!” Her wheels seem to be turning all the time, and she enjoys experimenting with ways to use fabrics, papers, hardware and paint.
Originally, her designs started with French-themed or inspirational quotes on linen or burlap. She incorporated items like old keys, crosses and corks to create a unique piece of artwork.
Now Wendy focuses mostly on recycling old frames and windows by making them into a functional piece of vintage art or rustic wall décor, like utility boards or aged mirrors. She also does a lot of personal signs for wedding and baby announcements.
Wendy Marovich Designs was created in 2011 when she gave these creative items as gifts. Soon after that, she started getting orders. And then Christine’s Creations retail shop in downtown Woodstock wanted to carry her pieces, which really helped to launch her business. Wendy then expanded with distribution at Sis & Moons art co-op and retail store in Alpharetta — a shop we love that carries many of our other Made OTP products as well!
