It’s not a rumor anymore! Avatron and Lionsgate entertainment are going forward with a Hunger Games Theme Park to open in January 2019.
AVATRON will feature a roughly 200-acre amusement park; two hotels with a total of 500 rooms; an up to 300,000-square-foot retail center in the likes of Downtown Disney; and a 10,000-square-foot music venue that could resemble Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver, Colo. Here’s an image from Avatron’s website.
Lakepoint Sporting Complex helped put Emerson, Ga (near Cartersville) on the map. Now, Hunger Game executives are discussing a theme park near that same area.
The Atlanta Business Chronicle reported that a a 700-acre site in Bartow County north of Atlanta is rumored to be where Lionsgate executives are eyeing the location for new theme park. Now, it’s confirmed.
There was talk of a futuristic technology and entertainment based Avatron Smart Park coming to that same area last spring. Now, we know they are going to partner.
“Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2”, will be released later this year and parts of it were filmed in Georgia.
The Dubai-based “Hunger Games” theme park, announced in April, is expected to open in 2016 and is expected to include a zone that features Hunger Games-inspired attractions and retail facilities, as well as a DreamWorks Animation zone,” reported Entertainment Weekly.
