According to Project Casting and the Atlanta Business Chronicle, Clint Eastwood and Tom Hanks are filming a Warner Bros. movie entitled “Sully” in Atlanta. You may recall from 2009 that Captain Sullenberger was piloting US Airways Flight 1549 when it struck a flock of birds. Sullenberger then performed an emergency landing in New York City’s Hudson River.
Everyone on the flight survived, but the movie will look beyond the near fateful January day.
Tom Hanks will star in the title role alongside Laura Linney and Aaron Eckhart, according to iMDB.
The film is based on Sullenberger’s autobiography “Highest Duty: My Search for What Really Matters.”
According to ComeTourGeorgia.com, the production is already underway in Georgia. It will be produced by Allyn Stewart and Frank Marshall.
After the massive success of Clint Eastwood’s “American Sniper,” Warner Bros. looks to have found the next film for the acclaimed director.
