Tips To Eat Your Veggies & Drink Your Water

From Fitness Trainer Lori Forrester:

Over the last couple of years I’ve found a couple of things that just plain work for me.

I hope sharing what works for me will help someone’s “journey to health” go a little more smoothly. I know I need to get my veggies in. I’ve found a way to eat broccoli that is so good you won’t know you’re eating healthy! I also am shooting for a gallon of water intake every day. This is not pretty, but like I said, it works for me!

If you’ve never roasted broccoli, you are missing out! Buy a bag of pre-washed broccoli florets. Spread out on a foil- lined pan and drizzle with coconut oil, garlic, sea salt and pepper (I don’t measure so just eyeball it but be careful with the oil). Roast for 20 min. at 425. Sprinkle with a little parmesan cheese if you eat cheese. Even your kids will love it! I also will occasionally squeeze lemon juice and the zest from the lemon on top. Use your imagination!

Water is hard to get in especially when it’s cold outside. What I really want is coffee on chilly days but drinking water flushes your system and keeps you full. Believe it or not, drinking water helps shed weight! I measure my gallon of water like the picture shown below, to help make sure I stay on track drinking water throughout the day.

Think about your day. When are your breaks? Draw lines on your water bottle or jug with check point times to keep you on schedule. This isn’t very lady-like but it has helped me so much. I’ve tried phone apps, counting the number of water bottles I’ve filled, and several other methods but this has been the easiest and worked the best. Now…don’t go on any long road trips with your family. They will want to kill you!
