After months of rumors, we have confirmation that the Little River Grill on Lake Allatoona has been acquired by Netflix for an upcoming television series. The restaurant has also been called Mambo on the Lake.
The Little River Grill, with Lake Allatoona as a backdrop, will serve as a set for the Netflix original series, “Ozark”, which is being produced by, directed by and stars Jason Bateman. The show will also film in Norcross. This will be a return to television and Netflix for the Arrested Development star, who is taking a dramatic turn with Ozark. The show was created by rising feature writer Bill Dubuque (The Judge), and takes place in the dark and dangerous world of drug-money laundering. The series takes its name from the location where it is set, The Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri.
Bateman himself was at the Little River Marina recently scouting the location. Construction is underway 
now at the location, with filming tentatively starting in August. We are excited to watch this unfold, as the the restaurant itself has been slightly inconsistent with several ownership changes. Of course, running into Jason Bateman would be fun too.
