Ready to kick it old school? Well then gather up the kids and a few lawn chairs and head up to Blue Ridge to see a movie. Not just any movie though — a drive in movie. Until July 9, they have a double feature showing.
9PM Despicable Me 3, Rated PG
Swan Drive In has been doing movies right for 60 years now, and offers a fun environment for family and friends. All you do is pull up, throw down the tailgate, turn up the radio, and enjoy. If you don’t feel like sitting in the car then you can lay out a blanket in the large green space in front of the screen. But first, make sure you pay a visit to the concession stand before taking your seat!
Of course as I scouted out the place I had to try out the concession stand. In my opinion, their “concession stand” is much more of a diner because your typical “concession stand” does not serve food like this. I decided to go with the flow and get the Mayor Burger as requested by everyone around me and it sure didn’t disappoint. But I wasn’t done there; after that, I went back for a funnel cake.
I went to Swan Drive In in the middle of summer, which was not one of my best ideas, but on a cool fall night you couldn’t go wrong here. On weekends they typically show double features, so for only $8 a head ($5 for kids) you can enjoy two movies for the price of one. It is cash only and there is no ATM at the theater.
Swan Drive In is yet another great asset to the city of Blue Ridge. If I were you, I’d plan a day of enjoying the Toccoa River, strolling around downtown, and then wrapping it all up with a movie before you head back home. But hey, that’s just coming from the dumb teenager that got a speeding ticket on her way to check this place out. Don’t be like me in that sense, but definitely follow my lead and go check this place out.
651 Summit Street, Blue Ridge, GA — 706-632-5235
If you are using any type of mapping device, Please Use 2672 East First Street ,which will get you to the shopping center adjacent to our marquee. When you see the Swan Drive In marquee follow that road for about 500 yards, the theatre ticket booth will be on your right. I hope this further info. will be of help, thanks! The Swan is located at 651 Summit Street however, at some time in the past Summit Street was changed so there now exists 2 Summit Streets which causes confusion to GPS and causes people to become lost in a residential area.
