Even though it’s not OTP, this one-day event is worth mentioning since it’s so cool and different!
Imagine a slide the size of three football fields … in Decatur. It will be in the middle of W. Ponce de Leon Ave, stretching from Clairmont down just past Ponce de Leon Place. The event is called Slide the City and it has been sweeping the nation!

Everyone over 46 inches tall and 5 years old are invited to slide, but remember if you’re under 18 you’ll need to get a sign off from your legal guardians.

They strive for water conservation at their events. It’s a priority to have zero environmental impact on the community. The Slide was designed to have zero water loss, and it treats and recycles the water safely and efficiently throughout the day. When permitted, they donate the water back to the community. Methods of disposal include local reclamation centers, parks, golf courses and other places dependent upon local regulations.
