My husband took one of those rare days off and said, “Lets have some Forced Family Fun!” We gathered our kids and their friends — five 15-year-old boys and three 12-year-old girls — loaded both cars up and set out to Main Event in Alpharetta.
Scoop had The Dirt about this Texas chain back in February of 2014, and it finally opened last August. With bowling, laser tag, video games, gravity ropes and more, this is an all-in-one fun center.
We got lucky — the day we went they were offering three hours of unlimited video games for $9.95! It appears they have a spring break special too.
All of the kids enjoyed laser tag. The girls then moved onto the gravity ropes while the boys continued with the arcade games.
Meanwhile, my hubby and I enjoyed some food and drinks over in the bar/restaurant area. We also played a game of shuffleboard and watched some twenty-somethings play pool.
The kids ran to and from our table, fitting bites in between games. But we all agreed that the food was tasty, and the servers were very attentive and nice.
Main Event also has a big party room, which would be great for office team building events as well as birthday parties. Giant TVs are perfect for watching sports. I think depending on the day and time, the crowd would change from kids to adults.
We didn’t go bowling, but the entire place was clean and neat. I also felt like the noise level was reasonable — no headache when we left!
We definitely recommend Main Event for family fun or a night out.
(Each Main Event differs slightly so everything you see on the website may not be available in Alpharetta.)
