If you love sushi like I do, then you probably have your favorite go-to place that you trust and count on. Well, my family and I were out furniture shopping on what I refer to as “Furniture Row” off of Barrett Parkway, and we needed a break. We didn’t want to drive, and saw Kuroshio Sushi in the corner of the plaza. (It is next to Five40 Kitchen & Social House, which is on my list to scoop without the children!)
Since I knew nothing about this sushi place, I was hesitant — but when we went to check it out, it was packed! To me, that is a great sign since it was a Monday night.
Upon entering, I found out they also have a second location in Smyrna in the Cumberland area, so I was doubly impressed!
My husband and I enjoyed a variety of sushi — they had some combo platters that made it easy to order. Sometimes, sushi menus can be overwhelming with so many choices, so the combo offer simplified it for us. (Plus, my head was already swimming with furniture choices!)
My daughter swears their chicken teriyaki was awesome. She is the family expert and was my junior scooper for the evening.
My son enjoyed his special California roll, which is what most people consider the starter roll. If you screw that up, then it’s probably downhill from there. The Unagi (eel) was fresh and tasty, as were the Spicy Tuna rolls. Overall, we all left happy!
