Are you crafty? Or maybe you would like to be crafty but just don’t know where to start? If so, the Kipling House might be just what you need.
The Kipling House in Marietta has been dedicated to art education since 1989. In November of 2012 two cousins Valarie and Shanna took over the house. They kept the artistic vision, but added their spin on crafts and added classes for adults. Having spent a few years as crafters and working many craft shows, Valarie and Shanna knew they wanted a place to call their own, and to share their love of crafting with others. And they have recently partnered with another Scoop Approved business, Rethunk Junk.
I like to think of myself as a somewhat crafty person. But the truth is I have damaged a table ortwo with a hot glue gun, accidentally dripped paint on the carpet, and don’t even get me started on all the glitter I’m still trying to vacuum up. So the idea of doing a potentially messy project in someone else’s home, and have them provide all of the supplies is a GOOD one! Paying one flat price to make your craft versus trying to purchase all of the supplies yourself is a no brainer, and may even save you money.
The Kipling House is offering weekday and weekend group classes, as well as a date night event for couples to enjoy. They also just added Rethunk Junk paint classes to their schedule. They have a calendar listing all of the various projects they will be working on, so you can pick and choose the ones you like.
The house is also available for special events like birthday parties, wedding and baby showers, and even corporate events. We all know too well how a children’s birthday party (especially one that involves making a craft) can cause major destruction in your home, so why not let two experts do it for you? You can thank me later.
Next time you are looking for a different activity for your group, or if Pinterest has gotten the best of you once again, look into what the Kipling House has to offer — they just might make a crafter out of you. And tell them Scoop sent you!
