Gabriel’s Restaurant & Bakery Opens in Acworth

Now OTP has two places to enjoy Gabriel’s Restaurant and Bakery!

They finally found the (second) perfect spot: the Old Mill of Acworth, where they preserved the history and made it a beautiful restaurant. This restaurant is sit-down style versus the fast-casual atmosphere of Marietta.

Gabriel's Scoop OTPThe menus vary slightly, but both Gabriel’s locations offer wonderful southern cuisine and delicious desserts. The Acworth spot now has a full service bar and an outdoor patio as well.

It’s the perfect place to pop in and grab lunch or dinner — or order to go! But after seeing their breakfast menu, you’ll probably want to go in the morning, too!

Gabriel's Scoop OTPWe enjoyed their signature hush puppies, Brunswick stew and chicken salad. I loved seeing a platter of deviled eggs go by — that’s not a common menu item in other places!

Johnnie Gabriel has a great story about how she got started baking and then into the restaurant business. You might have seen her cookbooks around town with the forward by her cousin Paula Deen.

If you have a special occasion or a wedding coming up, check out Gabriel’s creations here.

We all know restaurants can have great food, but service is important, too. We went on their opening week (so you know it was crazy), and they were as hospitable and sweet as can be — even as they worked out the kinks. We look forward to returning again!

Located at 4271 Southside Drive, Historic Downtown Acworth, GA 470-891-5969

The original restaurant is located in Marietta off the beaten path, just a short drive away from the square. We reviewed that great Whitlock area years ago as a 3-in-1 shopping destination.
