BIG ANNOUNCEMENT: Copper Coin will be closing its doors forever on September 3rd, 2022. We are heartbroken, but rising food costs and changing customer spending habits mean we simply cannot sign another five-year lease on this space. We have loved every minute of serving you, our customers and friends. Seeing your smiling faces, knowing you are getting work done, studying for tests, writing papers, meeting with friends and even enjoying first dates has made us feel like proud parents. Our home has been your home, and now it’s time to move over and welcome something new. Always hard! Before we go, please come by the shop, have another cup of coffee (or 100), a cinnamon roll (of course) and share with us what this place has meant to you. It would mean so much to our dedicated team.
The comments under the post refer to the coffee shop being the heart and soul of the community, a staple in Woodstock, and customers are very sad to see it leave the community.
In 2011, the Old Woodstock Coffee House moved from Uptown to Downtown, and Copper Coin Coffee was born.
Originally a coffee bar inside a financial institution, it soon became the meeting place for people in Downtown Woodstock. Whether for a casual conversation, a quick business meeting, or just a place to sit back and enjoy coffee and connection.
Over time, the coffee shop developed an expertise in specialty coffee. Baristas became experts in the art of Espresso drinks. Space initially created for the financial institution became sitting space, study space, meeting space. Local artists began to showcase their art on the walls and musicians were featured.
Just down the road, Starbucks is coming to Adair Park, but it won’t be the same feeling as Copper Coin was way more than just a coffee shop. Stop by on September 3rd or before to say goodbye!
