In the former Riverstone Corner Bistro restaurant, Dive Southern Coastal Kitchen will open this summer at 135 Reinhardt College Parkway, Suite 1 in Canton.

In a conversation with restaurant co-owner Celeste Charleston, she said that we have a “low country southern twist” on things. Her brother and co-owner  Kip Lowery has been in the business for over 30 years and has collected recipes from all over the world. He is an amazing chef, and this menu is a labor of love.

Charleston, originally from Marietta,  has been a Canton resident for 12 years and said the community is full of the warmest and nicest people she has met and so it was a no-brainer to start their restaurant business in their adopted hometown.

The menu features several items including a low country boil, she crab soup, a seafood charcuterie board, shareable sandwiches such as chicken and waffle sandwich, fried green tomato BLT, and Catfish sliders. They  will also offer a daily special as well as chicken and beef options.

Something cool and unique ( you know The Scoop) to know about the restaurant is that they have an Eagle and a Cardinal hidden (well in sight) in the restaurant. The cardinal represents the owners’ mother who passed away and who was from Louisville and a U of L alumni known as The Louisville Cardinals. The Cardinal can also be a sign from Heaven that someone is watching. The Eagle is representative of their father who was a career military man as a Colonel in the US Army. The Eagle is the symbol of his rank. Charleston’s husband Rob came up with the idea and surprised Celeste and Kip with the tribute. Local painter Danny Stegos painted the mermaid on the shiplap behind the bar with the owner’s names on the tail.

The passing of the owner’s dad was the inspiration to starting a restaurant and we wish them the best of luck! Follow them on Facebook for more updates.
