Cherokee High School Football Stars

It takes a team to be successful, and this year Cherokee High School has their first chance to be in the playoffs since 2007. The team is 6-3 and they play Friday, October 31 versus Walton at home for their senior night.

Cherokee Football Scoop OTPThe 6’1 200lb quarterback Spencer Ashley holds the career passing record at Cherokee with 6,100 yards. He has received QB of the year two times and made the All Region and two-time All County teams. Upon graduating this year, he wants to pursue law and hasn’t decided yet where to attend his undergraduate studies. He said:

“Football and my team have taught me so much about mental toughness, leadership, and family unlike any other sport or function of life that I’ve ever been involved with and is why the sport and my team mean so much to me.”
Brittain Brown, the team’s star running back on offense and safety on defense, is only a junior and has scholarship offers Cherokee Football Scoop OTPto UCF, Nebraska, Clemson, Ole Miss, Minnesota, GA Tech, Illinois, BC, and UVA. He hasn’t decided where to attend but is leaning toward a major in Biomedical Engineering or Computer Technology. To date this year, he has had 13 TDs, 283 yds rushing with 4 TDs against Wheeler. He quotes Pele :
“Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice, and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do.”
We wish we could feature all of the players that help make this a winning team like Andrew Harris, another great wide receiver for this team, but we just don’t have the space. You are all Scoop Stars!
