Chantico Burrito Cantina

It took us a while, but we finally got a chance to try out the highly anticipated Chantico Burrito on the Marietta Square. Chantico Burrito Cantina was opened by the seasoned restauranteurs at the Marietta Pizza Company, so we knew we had to try it.

Chantico’s atmosphere is fun and inviting. The exposed brick walls, vibrant wall art and bustling bar area were an unexpected surprise. We went at lunch, and ultimately wished we could have been there at dinner to enjoy one of their fresh margaritas.

Note: Give yourself ample time to park — the entire Square has become very popular this time of day. Not a problem at Chantico though; as soon as we mentioned our time constraints to our server, she was more than helpful getting us served and on our way.

The menu was another pleasant surprise with its plentiful list of options for tacos that included Baha fish, Ahi tuna and Barbacoa beef. Burritos, fajitas, salads and appetizers like southwest eggrolls and tableside guacamole made me really wish we had a larger appetite. Again, it was lunch so we skipped the seasonal margaritas they were promoting, but I do have it on good accord that they are worth every calorie.

We settled on the fish tacos and the Santa Fe salad. Both were very good, and you could tell the ingredients were fresh. If you must have a salad for lunch, this one will make you feel like you aren’t missing out on anything.

Now we need to go back with more time and a larger group to enjoy the atmosphere, bar and the rest of the menu. Next time you are in Marietta, try Chantico Burrito, and tell them Scoop sent you.

Chantico Burrito Cantina is located at 25 Powder Springs Street, Marietta. Closed on Sundays.

If you are making a day out of it on the Square, be sure to say “hi” to our friends at Market with a B and Marietta Metaphysical Arts.
