The owners of the popular Marietta Pizza Company have leased the property adjacent from them on Powder Springs Road, and have exciting plans.
Chantico Burrito Cantina will take over the space that was once occupied by 1 Block over, directly across from the Marietta Wine Market. The new restaurant will serve California-style burritos, tacos, fajitas, salads, quesadillas and appetizers.
David Contreras, one of the three owners, has memories of his Mexican grandmother’s recipes and hopes to translate that in the dishes they will feature. Quinoa, steamed vegetables, and brown rice will be included as ingredients in the all-fresh menu.
The atmosphere will be casual and fun, just like Marietta Pizza Company. Details are still coming on an official opening date, but if all goes as planned Chantico Burrito will be open in time for the Taste of Marietta in April.
Marietta Pizza Company has always been a crowd pleaser, and adding a Mexican cantina to the mix on the Marietta Square is sure to be a hit. If you remember, MPC was featured in the movie, Dumb and Dumber To, in which it was referred to as “Margherita Pizza Company” to fit into the El Paso setting in which the movie took place. Maybe that was an omen of things to come with this new venture. Either way, we are looking forward to it!
Looking forward to another great restaurant at 25 Powder Springs St in Marietta.
