Is it just me, or are all those old school awesome Nintendo games pretty difficult to come by these days? That is, unless you know where to find them. Welcome to 2nd & Charles.
Located across from World Market on Barrett Pkwy, this store has just about everything a slightly nerdy but still social and definitely cool person could want. 2nd & Charles carries thriving collections of vinyl records, TV series and movies on DVD, comics, CDs both old and new, board games, and a huge selection of books. They also have instruments and seasonal/holiday gifts!
You can buy, sell, and trade items. And whatever you walk away with is good as new. The employees check to make sure everything is intact and working properly before anything hits the shelves, so you won’t get home and see that the CD you just bought is scratched.
They get new items in everyday, so don’t give up if they don’t have your favorite movie on your first visit. And if they do have it, be sure to scoop it up fast!
This is a fantastic place to go if you’re looking to grow your favorite TV series or book collection (which is something I am always looking to do).
And, although it took a few months and many stops into the store, I finally saw it there, beaming at me from the glass case: Super Mario World. 2nd and Charles even has (new?) gaming systems that are built to play all of the old NES and SNES games. It’s called a Retron — I got one of those too.
2nd & Charles fulfills that weird nostalgic giddy kid that still lives in all of our hearts. So go get lost in the maze of book aisles, and pick up a few CDs that you’ve been meaning to add to your collection. And tell them Scoop sent you.
