A cold winter day is the perfect time to curl up with a book near the fireplace. (Or, a hot summer one too near the AC Unit!) Yes, a real book made out of paper, not those downloadable books!

I love books and reading, and so do my children. We have so many hardcover books, paperback books, and collections from my kids’ younger reading days that I can’t house them all. I had visions of this beautiful library with the hardcover classics given to me by my grandpa, but sadly they all remain in the guest room. And since we have so many, my husband threatened to remove half of them, and so instead, I found the perfect place.

Book Browser off of Hwy 92 in Woodstock buys your books back from you for a credit. Then, when you return to purchase a new book (and their selection is amazing) you pay with half credit and half cash. So you can normally get a great book for $5.00 or less. They have both new and used books, hardcover and paperback.  They also have required reading books for school age children.

All the major authors you would find in the big box bookstores are in this store. It is organized by genre, and the staff can help you locate a certain author if needed. Book Browser also collects books for the troops and they have book clubs. They’ve even started e-edition books for those technology devices! So go pick an old classic or a new favorite and get to reading, Scoopers!

The new Pollo Tropical is going in across from their Woodstock location.
