Bert’s Big Adventure, a nonprofit organization that provides a magical, all-expenses-paid, five-day journey to Walt Disney World® for children with chronic and terminal illnesses and their families, is excited to announce that they are now accepting applications and nominations for their 2023 trip.
Next year will be even more magical as the organization will be celebrating its 20th trip. Throughout the five-day journey, these families will receive an incredibleVIP experience, including airfare, hotel, souvenirs, private character visits, dining, all-access passes to the Walt Disney World parks, dessert and dance parties, and so much more.
“This upcoming trip is especially exciting as we’re embarking on our big 20th trip to Disney, and we can’t wait to mark this milestone with our newest families,” says Bert’s Big Adventure founder and host of “The Bert Show”, Bert Weiss. “When we started Bert’s Big Adventure 20 years ago, our initial goal was to provide deserving children and their families with an escape from doctors, hospital visits, and daily struggles by providing them with a trip away from it all. Since our start, it has become so much more than just our annual trip, it’s grown into a support system nationwide with year-round aid through various programs for our 250 families. Without the continued support over the decades, we wouldn’t be celebrating our 20th trip next year. I’m forever grateful for everyone who has made this organization what it is today.”
To qualify, children must be between the ages of 5 and 12, be diagnosed with a chronic or terminal illness, and have never been to Walt Disney World®. The family must prove financial need and live in the radio listening area of “The Bert Show”, a nationally syndicated morning radio show based in Atlanta, Georgia. Applications are currently accepted from the following cities: Amarillo, TX; Atlanta, GA; Beaumont, TX; Charleston, SC; Chattanooga, TN; Columbus, MS; Des Moines, IA; Dothan, AL; Eugene, OR; Flint, MI; Fort Wayne, IN; Harrisburg, PA; Kansas City, MO; Lake City, FL; Lexington, KY; Macon, GA; Mobridge, SD; Nashville, TN; Pierre, SD; St.Florian/Florence, AL; Toledo, OH, Wichita Falls, TX and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, PA listening areas.
Bert’s Big Adventure has taken more than 250 children and their families on this trip of a lifetime.
