We at Scoop love Downtown Woodstock. In fact, we often have to stop ourselves from continuously writing about the shops there, because we are trying to cover all of OTP. But when Be You on Purpose Boutique opened up last month, we had to bend our rules.
Be You on Purpose is a new boutique that carries all of the latest fashions, accessories and gifts you need. What makes this boutique unique is the ever repeated theme throughout the store: “Be you… on purpose.” It’s printed on the wall, on t-shirts, on adorable drawstring burlap sacks, and even on some of the jewelry. You might find yourself wondering what the saying means (be sure to ask on your visit in!).
Owner DeLana Rutherford is a pastor, and so is her husband. Previously, she was on the TLC reality show “Sisterhood”. DeLana started the boutique out of her love of fashion, as well as her passion for helping teens and women who have overcome various obstacles in life.
The fashions, accessories and home décor have a vintage, antique feel. One of the best qualities about a boutique like Be You on Purpose is that you can get yourself something, as well as s gift for someone else. Need a cute top for a party and a hostess gift? Done. The boutique also has what I always like best: a price range that should make everyone happy.
New shipments come in weekly, so, as with most boutiques, you have to check back often to be sure you aren’t missing out on any of the good stuff! I have already been a couple of times, and can’t wait to check it out again.
The store is set up beautifully — it’s so easy to get caught up in the displays. I happened to visit during a holiday photo shoot, and could hardly drag myself out of there!
