Holiday Lights Around Atlanta 2017

Everyone’s favorite holiday light shows are back this year: Magic Nights of Lights at Lanier Island,  Stone Mountain Christmas, Life University’s Lights of Life, and Pettite Creek Farms in Cartersville. In addition to these popular spots for holiday fun, there are some new exhibits around town.

The newly opened Cherokee Veteran’s Park  off Highway 20 in Canton has drive-through holiday light show. It is now open and begins at 6:00 PM nightly. Cost is $20; check out some images on their Facebook page. 

A charity light show, Woodstock’s Holiday Light of Hope  runs December 7-23. The annual event at Hobgood Park in Woodstock, GA features a huge walk-through Christmas light display with more than 2,000,000 lights, concessions, vendors, Santa and so much more!  More details and ticket purchase on their website . Proceeds benefit the the Anna Crawford Children’s Center.

Let’s not forget the homeowners that go above and beyond the call of holiday duty! Driving around town and seeing holiday lights on display is one of the great and timeless activities that makes everyone say, “WOW!”  Everywhere in the USA, some families or neighbors step up and put their home or street on display. Alpharetta: The Christmas in Castille display at 4220 Tivoli Way has thousands of lights synchronized to music. The area around 1670 Gladewood Drive, in the Johns Creek subdivision of Hillbrooke, is also known to have a lot of festive homes. Come see 55,000+ lights on 9 separate breakers starting November 30th. Follow them on Facebook for updates. I love the about us information where the owner says:

Cumming:  Ashebrooke Night of Lights 2017 will be held on December 17th from 7pm-9pm. Here is the Scoop from Cumming Local.

Dallas: Visit Felix Family Christmas Lights at 224 Oliver Overlook. They are a fully animated home Christmas light display in the metro Atlanta area with 1000’s of lights that move to Christmas music. Follow them on Facebook to see their opening date.

Kennesaw Lights of Joy   The Largest Residential Christmas Light Display in Georgia with 350,000+ lights. Visit them at 1510 Ben King Road in Kennesaw, GA 30144 and follow their Facebook page to see:

Two musical trees synchronized to Christmas music.  99.2 FM
Another section of shrubs and trees synchronized to the music.
Over 20 trees with white lights.  One tree is 90 feet tall and has over 20,000 lights.
Three other trees have over 10,000 lights each.
Our frontage on the road is approximately 700 feet long so we have a landscaped and lighted area the entire length.
60 Holly bushes have been shaped into Christmas trees across the front and are all lighted.  There are approximately 115,000 lights on these Christmas trees.
We have many figures featuring Santa in a helicopter, Santa on a tractor and many other characters.
We have taken ideas from various places and have wrapped our pine trees with lights and our hardwood trees have lights in the trees.

East Cobb/Roswell:  This animated display has thousands of lights that are synchronized to music. Thye have an FM transmitter so people can tune their car radios to my station, 88.3FM, and listen to the music and watch the lights. The owners also has a virtual Santa, leaping archessnowmakersmakers and animated skaters.  This year the son built a large sleigh (8′ long) that is big enough to sit in, so I have added a real Santa on Friday and Saturday evenings for photo ops with hot chocolate and candy canes.  I have a donation box and accept contributions for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. – 2016  Christmas Canon-Walk Through the Lights, watch their You Tube video for a sneak peek.

Santa’s Village in Roswell: A collection of lights, animated characters, trains and Christmas characters for you and your children to enjoy. It is open nightly from 6PM – 9PM, thru New Year’s Eve. The display includes 8 display settings, each one with a Christmas scene. The garage display is like a picture out of a Norman Rockwell calendar and will bring back memories of Christmas past. On the Friday thru Sunday evenings, and holiday periods, from 6-9PM, weather permitting, we also provide train rides in the neighborhood. Located at 405 Waverly Hall Drive, it can be reached from the intersection of Woodstock Road (Hiway 92) and Bowen Road. Corner landmarks are Target and CVS Pharmacy. Head south one block and turn right on Waverly Hall Drive and go about six-tenths of a mile to 405. Santa’s Village is located on the right side – with the displays located in the display trailer and the garage. Please get out of your cars and walk down the driveway to enjoy. The cost is free, but donations are graciously accepted, with all going to purchase Toys for Tots.

Woodstock: The Woodstock Market has created it’s annual holiday window display, reminiscent of an old-fashioned department store.  Take a stroll outside and see the wonder that they have created.  Be sure to pop in for more displays from their vendors.

Atlanta’s Botanical Garden of Light where you can be immersed in the world’s largest synchronized curtain of lights during Garden Lights, Holiday Nights! 1,600 strings of lights that contain more than 70,000 color changing LED light pixels hang above the Canopy Walk choreographed to music and sound effects.

Christmas in the Grove will run it their 115,000 lights every night (Weather Permitting)  until 1/1/18Sunday – Thursday 6:30 – 10:00 and Friday/Saturday 6:30 – 11. Santa will visit on Saturday 12/16 from 6-8:30. They collect donations for The ALS Association of Georgia. Back in 2013 the house won $50,000 for the Great Christmas Light Fight.
