Plans are underway to break ground on a new Great Wolf Lodge indoor waterpark and resort in LaGrange by 2018, according to Columbus news channel WRBL.com.
Mayor Jim Thornton reports that the deal is official, bringing the next installment of America’s largest family of indoor waterpark resorts to Georgia.
A Great Wolf Lodge Resort representative stated that the $170 million project will amount to 500 jobs for the community, and could bring up to 500,000 visitors annually.
The facility is expected to include a 93,000 square ft. indoor waterpark, an outdoor play area, bowling lanes, an arcade, and 456 overnight luxury suites. If you have ever stayed at a Great Wolf Lodge, you know that they are all about the kids. Besides just being a waterpark, there are many activities throughout the hallways of the lodging areas that entertain the little ones.
Currently, there are three other locations in the Southeast, and eleven in North America.
