Our friend at Tomorrow News Today said that Chicago-based Portillo’s restaurant will be coming to Kennesaw before everyone else and now the restaurant website officially confirms this scoop.
Portillo’s is slated to open at 790 Cobb Place Boulevard, where it replaces On The Border, a chain Mexican restaurant that closed earlier this year after more than two decades in business.
From the official website:
Hold onto your sweet tea, Georgia! We’re rolling into town with our very first restaurant in the Peach State, and trust us, it’s going to be berry good. Get ready to bite into something delicious because we’re bringing you the Portillo’s flavor you’ve been craving.
The new restaurant, located in Town Center at Cobb*, will feature our new Restaurant of the Future look and feel. It’ll be a smaller 6,250 square feet with plenty of seating for guests, both inside and out. Want to take your food to go? No problem. We’ve got our signature double drive-thru lanes and Portillo’s Pick Up shelves, as well as a Grab and Go retail area.
Once we open, we hope you’ll cake shake in to enjoy our signature menu items like Chicago-Style Hot Dogs, Famous Italian Beef Sandwiches, Char-Grilled Burgers and Portillo’s Famous Chocolate Cake.
We’d be bun-believably thrilled to have you as part of the Portillo’s family. We offer team members competitive pay, flexible schedules, growth opportunities, free shift meals, the opportunity to get paid daily and more. Visit portillos.com/careers for more information.

*Town Center at Cobb is misinformation, it is not at the Mall but at 790 Cobb Place.
Do you know this restaurant? Ironically it was mentioned a few times in the Netflix Series Ozark, which was filmed OTP, as a place for the siblings to get a meal when they return to Chicago from the Ozarks.
