Northside Hospital-Cherokee Amphitheater Near Completion

If you haven’t caught a glimpse lately of the Northside Hospital-Cherokee Amphitheater in downtown Woodstock, the progress is stunning. According to the Woodstock Parks and Recreation’s Facebook page, they are testing the light system and preparing to finish sod and concrete next week.

The new amphitheater will be home to the Woodstock Summer Concert Series; a favorite event in the area that was cancelled this summer due to construction of the new facility. In previous years, the Summer Concert Series has drawn 7,000 people to it’s events. The new facility features multiple terraces and a large lawn seating area for optimal viewing angles. The facility includes a Concessions and Hospitality Plaza and additional areas for food vendors. The Band Stand will feature public restrooms and support facilities for concerts and events.

The first concert will be on November 12th: A Salute to our Veterans concert featuring Woodstock’s own country music artist Mark Wills with the Thomas Fountain Band as the opener — the perfect way to thank our Veterans and open the new amphitheater. Ribbon cutting ceremony and celebration just before the concert starts.
