Rumi’s Kitchen, a popular Persian restaurant in Sandy Springs is coming to Avalon. Amy Wenk of Atlanta Business Chronicle broke the news last week. It’s the first restaurant that has signed on to Avalon’s second phase so this may be more than a year away! Branch & Barrel is a 19th century industrial Craft Bar and Kitchen led by Chef Todd Hogan. Delicious cocktails will be classic and made with the same care and detail as the foods coming out of the kitchen. All shrubbs and mixers are craft made. I had to look up the definition of shrubbs, as I am not knowledgeable in craft beer, but they sound good!
From the kitchen you can expect the bread baked daily, in-house cured meats, unique cheese, local ingredients and a culinary experience in your neighborhood eatery. In short, scratch prepared and served with care. Check out their full menu. They are scheduled to open around December 15th, but follow their Facebook page for the updates.

During the holiday season, you can enjoy hot chocolate and Malvi Marshmallows every weekend at Avalon during the holiday season. I had never heard of Malvi’s and was excited to learn they are molten sugar fluff cubes full of bold flavors and awesome ingredients. They’re ‘wiched between shortbread style cookies to maximize your joy. My mouth was watering at their Facebook page images.
This Atlanta based company has a great background story too. You can pick some Malvi Marshmallows up at Land of Thousand Hills in Roswell and at Avalon’s Concierge. Normal Hours: Friday: 3:30PM-10PM, Saturday: 10AM-10PM and Sunday: 12PM-7PM. This is a perfect tie-in to Avalon on Ice, their outdoor ice skating rink.
