Haunted Houses… if you dare!

Believe it or not, some people LOVE Haunted Houses! Apparently, they enjoy the anticipation of the unknown around each corner, the thrill of being scared and the fear of the unknown… I am not one of those people. I just want to enjoy all of the chocolate and pumpkin flavors associated with Halloween. But since my teenagers are begging to check some of these top OTP haunted attractions out, we did some research.

NETHERWORLD

One of Yahoo Travel’s top ten haunted houses in America, and one of Travel Channel’s 2014 best-haunted attractions! Get spooked at Netherworld, which is now located in Stone Mountain. Opening October 5 – November 4th. Get your tickets here.

After more than 20 years in Norcross, they have a new expanded facility with more monsters, scares and free parking just off of Highway 78.

PARANOIA

This year again, Canton will be home to the popular Paranoia Haunted House at 2075 Marietta Highway. Previously, the location was in Roswell. They claim to be one of the largest haunted houses around town. The second Friday in October is National Haunted House Day and might be a good time to visit Paranoia… if you dare! They open at 8pm this Friday, September 28th! Get your tickets at our box office or online.

13 STORIES

Known for being very scary and extreme and it isn’t for the faint of heart. For those 18 and older, there is an extreme haunt called Sacrifice, and it costs additional fees. The location isn’t really 13 floors — technology simulates the feel and terror!

They are open in Newnan and have started a Virtual Line System to limit your on site wait time. Text 13 Stories to 404-620-2978 the day of your visit after 7am or go HERE to get in line!

New this year: Rapper 2 Chainz has reincarnated the pink house attraction with a scary twist. The Atlanta-based entertainer and his label Street Execs Management have teamed up with 13 Stories Haunted House to create a first of its kind hip-hop-themed haunted attraction. The attraction is located on Temple Avenue in Newnan.

GATES OF MISERY

Do you have the courage to enter the Gates of Misery in Rome, GA? Set in a 93-year-old, two-story building, their 12,000 square foot walk through haunted house is filled with torture, torment, terrifying screams and nightmares you’re afraid to face in a dark atmosphere filled with live actors, special effects, props and more.

If you visit 174 Chatillon Road, Rome, Georgia 30161 near Rome Braves Stadium, you might want to sleep with a light on after your tour. Tickets are $20 a person.

FOLKLORE HAUNTED HOUSE

It’s time to SCREAM! This Acworth attraction is said to be the scariest around! Folklore Haunted House unleashes 3 absolutely spectacular haunted houses. Learn what USA’s GREATEST HAUNTS calls One of the Best in the Country. Open this weekend. There are three different tours you can take and a coffin burial simulator.

HOUSE ON HORROR HILL, Georgia’s longest-running (35 years) and the oldest haunted house in Alpharetta, will not be open this year, but will be back next year! They said:

Unfortunately due to illness, and relocating we will not be open this year. Please look for us in 2019.

The Jaycees run WOODSTOCK’S TRAIL OF TERROR at 216 Rope Mill Road will also not be returning this year.

We wish you a safe and scary Halloween! Please check each Haunted House’s website for details, costs, and hours. If we missed any major haunted houses, let us know at info@scoopotp.com.
