Gibbs Gardens: Two Green Thumbs Up

Update: March 1st marks the beginning of Gibbs Gardens 7th Annual Daffodil ColorFest, where more than 50 acres of blooming daffodils create a feast for the senses—beginning in March and continuing through mid-April. You won’t want to miss
more than 20 million+ blooms, including 100 different varieties, is what Southern Living calls “the most spectacular display of blooms this side of Holland.

Fields of flowers everywhere! Gibbs Gardens, a hidden gem in Ball Ground, GA, is almost 300 acres of rolling woodlands, natural springs, streams, waterfalls, and the most spectacular gardens I’ve ever seen. You truly have to see it to believe it!

The Japanese gardens are the largest in the nation, and made me feel so zen and relaxed. The view from the Manor House overlooking the fields of flowers is spectacular. Words can’t describe this place, you must take your mother, mother-in-law, and any friend who loves flowers to this magical garden soon.

I went with my family and we actually got lost in the daffodil field… I needed the yellow brick road to get me out! Each season reveals a different perspective of the garden, with something new always in bloom. The grades of the walking levels are easy for all ages to handle, but there is a lot of ground to cover. The little lunch shop offers the most amazing sandwich choices so enjoy a snack while getting lost in the best view nature has to offer.

Don’t just take it from me, Southern Living magazine said Gibbs Gardens has the most stunning daffodil garden anywhere!

The gardens opened in January of 2012 and this article was written then, but the facts still hold true. Visit their website and I know that will seal the deal for a visit.  Check their online calendar to see what is in bloom.

Also, if you buy a day ticket and fall in love with the gardens, you can upgrade to a year round ticket. Enjoy and tell them scoop sent you!

Stop by the Burger Bus on your way to Ball Ground!

Scoop Tip: If you love the sandwiches you get at Gibbs Garden cafe, Mary’s Bread Basket, opened another location in Canton.  They provide their yummy chicken salad and pimento cheese on homemade bread for Gibbs Garden. Located at 149 Reinhardt College Parkway, Canton, GA 30114.
