Did someone say road trip?! Whether you’re already planning to head toward Nashville, or make a trip just for this small town, Franklin, Tenneseee is a must see. Roughly three hours from all of us OTPers, Franklin is a perfect getaway for a family vacay, girls’ weekend, or couples’ rendezvous.
This quaint town offers something for everyone with cute retail therapy shops, fun places to eat, lots of antiques, and many fun events.
One of my personal favorite places to eat in Franklin is an old renovated grocery store called Puckett’s. The restaurant not only has a great menu but also a fun atmosphere with live music and mismatched chairs.
For the ladies, you definitely need to check out Franklin’s local boutiques. A few of my faves are Gin-o and Philanthropy Fashion. Both are locally owned and offer two very different styles for tourists coming to find a new outfit to hit the town. You could also go to Anthropologie — a.k.a. everybody’s dream closet — because they have a two-story location in Franklin!
For a smaller town, Franklin sure does have some fun events going on all the time. I have been to the Dicken’s of a Christmas Festival multiple times with my family and it is always a blast. All of the characters from A Christmas Carol walk around entertaining the crowd and vendors come from all over the south to set up shop.
This little town is definitely worth the drive and is sure to have something for all ages. Garden and Gun Magazine recently selected the city as a great small-town escape. So start to plan your road trip and find more information on Facebook.

Megan is an upcoming senior. She started to think about what to do for her senior project, and decided to do something a little out of her comfort zone and see where it would lead. So here she is writing, but writing about things 100% in her comfort zone. As a retail employee, she is obsessed with all the new trends in fashion, and as a typical high schooler, she is always looking for something to do. So she decided to write about her findings and share the Scoop on being a senior.
Megan has also written some retail therapy reviews for Scoop OTP too.
