When Dick’s Sporting Goods reopened after a coronavirus shutdown, we saw an uncharacteristically high number of items on clearance.
These clearance sales created a big stir among shoppers and the company has announced that there will be two new “concept stores” focused on clearance: OVERTIME by Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Dick’s Sporting Goods Warehouse. The warehouse will be more of a pop up type store similar to the Spirit Halloween store model, appearing in empty storefronts.
According to our friends at Tomorrow News Today the store is slated to open later this spring in Towne Center Prado in Marietta. The new 36,538 square foot store will open in place of Stein Mart. The article states that it remains unclear though for how long it will remain open, as industry speculation is that the company does not sign long term leases for its off-price stores.
