Getting your meat from a butcher shop doesn’t necessarily mean you have to spend more money. Many times the prices are very comparable with grocery stores, and you can get different specialized quality meats with the butcher’s distinct flavor.
With so many OTP shops around, I recommend the one we use in Canton called The Corner Butcher Shop whose slogan is: “Where Quality MEATS Old Fashioned Service” Scoop loves a good play-on-words!
The Corner Butcher Shop is owned by LSU fan Larry Herbert — so you know it must be good if this Gator fan regularly supports his shop! He has premium meats, seafood, take home containers with ready-to-eat meals, incredible double-stuffed potatoes, a deli to grab some lunch, snowballs for the kids, and his famous smokehouse products. I recommend the Gloria burgers, flank steaks, ribs and his awesome beef jerky. He offers great family packages too, and with more than 40 flavors of sausage, it may take you a while to decide.
Other butcher shops to consider are Woody’s Meat & Sausage Company and Da Butcher, both located in Alpharetta and recommended by Alpharetta Moms‘ Christy Noll. Woody specializes in creating sausage from his 100 year old Italian recipe. He is also a distributor of Wicked Good Charcoal and 3 Beer Rub spices out of Alpharetta. Da Butcher has a great catering menu and homemade lobster macaroni and cheese… I think I might have to make a drive out to Alpharetta soon!
Kimberly Starr of The Networking Social in Cumming highly recommends Leonard’s Farmers Market, which has more than just meats — they provide beef to many local restaurants. She also noted that Wilkes Meat Market and Deli is in Cumming, Suwanee, and Snellville. They have a great reputation around town for their Black Angus Beef and USDA Choice Beef.
And in Woodstock (Towne Lake area) is the Butcher’s Market — a trusted scooper says she loves their four pack of Filet Mignon.
