The latest body contouring treatment to hit the market is called ultrasound cavitation — also known as ultrasonic cavitation, cavi-lipo, or ultra cavitation. Ultrasound cavitation is a non-invasive body contouring treatment that uses ultrasonic waves to turn fat cells into free fatty acids, which are easier for the body to get rid of.
The midsection, upper arms, thighs, hips, and chin area can be targeted with these low-frequency ultrasound waves, which penetrate the skin and create bubbles around fat deposits. The bubbles cause the weak fat cells to burst, leaking out the fatty acids. The body then expels the fatty acids naturally through the urinary tract and lymphatic system.
Can I expect weight loss?
The ultrasound cavitation procedure reduces the circumference of the area being treated. It contours the body, smooths, tightens, tones and reduces the appearance of cellulite and stretch marks, in specific troubled areas.
Weight management is a journey involving a healthy diet, exercise, stress management, and regular sleep patterns.
There are no long-term, weight loss benefits associated with Ultra Cavitation, or any procedure that works similarly. You can melt and destroy tons of fat cells, but if your diet includes more calories than the body needs, extra fat will be stored in the remaining cells.
What to Expect from an Ultrasound Cavitation Treatment
The client relaxes on the treatment bed while a hand held flat probe device is glided over the marked areas delivering the focused ultra- sound energy. Most clients require between 10 and 12 treatments, but many see up to one to two inches of circumference reduction after only five treatments. Each treatment session lasts approximately 30 to 50 minutes.
To get the most out of your treatments, drinking water, maintaining a healthy diet, and exercising regularly is recommended between sessions. In fact, it is important to drink at least 3 pints (1.5 L) of water before and after ultrasound cavitation treatments in order to help the body expel the fatty acids. A low fat, low carb diet, for at least a day before the procedure is recommended in order to help you better burn fatty acids during the treatment and just after. Following the treatment, the client can immediately resume daily activities. Treatments require no anesthetics and no downtime.
The standard interval between individual Ultra Cavitation treatments is 72 hours to allow enough time for the body to recover. The cost depends on spa location and the area being treated.
