The Salty Mule Is Coming To Canton

Original article debuted October 2019

A new restaurant, bar, and music venue is coming to Canton. The Salty Mule is a causal style raw bar and seafood restaurant at 169 South Church Street, located in the heart of Canton, that is just starting construction and coming in February or March of 2020. Due to Covid – they have been slow and steady in building and an opening date is still TBD.

According to their Facebook Page:

Getting closer to construction time. A little sneak peak of layout and bar design. The front of the restaurant will be a covered patio area with roll up glass doors

The location is behind R&M Sandwich and Goin Coastal Restaurants.

In an instant message conversation with the owners,  Scott Melton and William Bubba Latimer, they said the concept will be laid back, casual, with a beach-style environment serving fresh seafood and oysters while focusing on the guest experience and good times.

This will be a flip flop and toes in the sand kind of place with great food, fun, and entertainment, all while not breaking the bank!

Don’t worry, they will have a few non seafood items for those that want to enjoy the atmosphere.

We are brining the beach vibe to the Blue Ridge Mountains!

According to Linkedin, Melton is Director of Operations for Blue Grey Hospitality and was formerly Director of Operations for Alon’s Market and Bakery in Dunwoody. Bubba is the owner and pitmaster of Bub-Ba-Q in Georgia, as well as winner of the several Georgia Barbeque Championship Series competitions. Sounds like we have some experience coming to Canton!
