The stars have aligned and St. Patrick’s Day is falling on a Saturday this year! Yes, I understand how the Gregorian calendar works and that St. Patrick’s Day will land on a Saturday every seven years — but for this particular Scooper, this is the first Saturday St. Patrick’s Day without any scheduled soccer, lacrosse, basketball, dance, or any other parent-required event. That being said, I am looking forward to finally partaking in some of these blessed events, overdoing it, and most likely falling asleep by 8:00 PM.
Here’s the rundown of what’s happening near you for lucky St. Pat’s…
Olde Blind Dog: The three day celebration starts Friday March 16th with a head-shaving event for St. Baldrick’s Pediatric cancer research, and all day party with food and live music on Saturday starting at 10:00 AM, and will wrap up Sunday with the St. Paddy O’Pedal bike ride. Pre-registration is required for Friday and Sunday, and tickets are being sold now for Saturday’s bash.
Luck of Avalon: Kick off the weekend on Friday, March 16th from 6:00-10:00 PM at the Boulevard at Avalon. Enjoy a festive bagpipe performance from North Georgia Pipes & Drums, live music from crowd favorite Az-Izz, and plenty of dancing and green beer!
Keegan’s Irish Pub Woodstock: The party starts Friday night with green beer, corned beef and cabbage. Saturday morning at 8:00 AM Keegan’s will host “Kegs and Eggs” brunch buffet sponsored by Reformation Brewery. The party goes on all day with live music, Irish food, the Guinness Girls and drink specials. Head back for brunch at 11:00 AM on Sunday.
Mac McGee’s Roswell: This Roswell favorite will be celebrating their Five Year Anniversary on March 17th by opening up early inside at 10:00 AM, and an outdoor “MacFestivus” beginning at noon. There will be plenty of beer and food, live music, Irish dancers, bagpipers, and a balloon artist and a face painter for the kids. And… it’s free entry all day!
Fightingtown Tavern, Blue Ridge: Fourth Annual Party on the Patty ‘O. Head to Blue Ridge for a semi-traditional St. Patty’s Celebration. Tie Dye shirts, scratch-made Irish pub fare, 3 taps dedicated to our friends at Sweetwater Brewing, great music, prizes, cornhole and more!
Live! at the Battery Atlanta: St. Patrick’s Day Takeover presented by Live! at The Battery.
