Marietta Square Market is pleased to announce the twentieth merchant to join its mouth-watering roster. Atlanta-based PONKO Chicken will bring its award-winning Japanese-American inspired chicken tenders and made from scratch cuisine to the Market. In addition, Pulp Addiction offers healthy food and smoothies and will be in the trolley car in front of the market.
PONKO Chicken first opened in Chamblee in 2017 and soon added a Midtown Atlanta location as well. Since that time, PONKO’s unique take on chicken has offered one-of-a-kind bites that have earned a collection of accolades and awards from “Best Selling Taste” at Taste of Atlanta two years in a row and “Best Fried Chicken” at ATL Cluckfest 2018 to “Best Dish” at Midtown Spring Crawl 2019 and “Top-Selling Vendor” at SuperBowl Live 2019. With interior finish work on its space underway, PONKO is currently expected to be open and serving at Marietta Square Market this September.
PONKO’s menu centers on its uniquely crispy and crave-able chicken tenders which are served up, fried or grilled, in a variety of styles including plates and salads as well as sandwiches and tacos along with an assortment of sauces and sides ranging from fries, sweet fries or potato salad to sticky rice, green beans or cole slaw. Tofu, vegan patty and gluten-free options are also planned for the Marietta Square Market location as is a kids menu for the youngest PONKO fans.
Located at 68 North Marietta Parkway NW just one block from Glover Park in the Historic Marietta Square District, the new Marietta Square Market is an 18,500 square foot food hall designed to resemble a turn of the century train station and nestled in a completely revitalized warehouse space adjacent to the Square’s iconic railroad tracks and the parallel Mountain to River Trail. The Market is currently home to eighteen active merchants – sixteen restaurants and two retail boutiques – offering a diverse selection of authentic eats, a well-stocked central bar and indoor and outdoor seating options as well as pop-up style shopping.
Pulp Addiction opens this summer in the iconic trolley car in front of the market. They will offer fresh, healthy fare from bowls, smoothies and juice shots to salads and breakfast options. The new concept will be brought to life by the same team behind Four Fat Cows Ice Cream, currently serving inside the Market, who will bring their same dedication to high quality ingredients and homemade goodness to the lighter, health-focused options planned for Pulp Addiction.
