OTP Cities Named Best Places to Raise a Family

A list with the best places to raise a family in Georgia was released from Wallethub, and many OTP cities wallethubmade the list. Georgia currently ranks 10th in the country for GDP, with increases in personal income, home values and job opportunities this past year.

Methodology for determining the list included measuring these factors:

-Family Life & Fun: includes number of playgrounds, commute times and weather.

-Education, Health & Safety: includes number of pediatricians, school rankings and violent crime rate.

-Affordability:includes housing and general affordability.

-Socioeconomics; includes divorce rates, numbers below poverty level and number on food stamps.

The top 10 cities, according to Wallethub that are best for raising a family in Georgia are:

  1. Johns Creekjohns-creek
  2. Milton
  3. Alpharetta
  4. Cusseta
  5. Suwanee
  6. Druid Hills
  7. Peachtree City
  8. Decatur
  9. Evans
  10. Woodstock

This recognition comes just weeks after Cherokee county and North Fulton’s school districts were recognized for earning the highest SAT test scores in the metro Atlanta area, with Cherokee ranking the highest. Winning awards and making woodstockwallethubnational lists is not new to many of these awesome OTP towns; several of them have been on Niche’s rankings for best suburbs to live, safest cities, and best places to buy a house in Georgia. And, just last year, Woodstock was named #50 in the nation from Money magazine as a best place to live.
