Customer service in the world of retail is something we could dedicate our entire website to if we wanted. Which is why we love sharing when we get great service, as we often do at the cute, quaint local businesses we visit. One Unique Design is no different, and with a tagline of “Where artsy girls go to play,” how could you not want to stop in?
I won’t lie — I have probably driven past One Unique Design a dozen or more times without stopping in. But a friend of ours told us that we had to check it out. It’s right down the street from another Scoop Approved store, the Winey Blonde Boutique, so its fun to check out both of these shops if you’re in the area.
One Unique Design is an eclectic mix of vintage, refurbished, up-cycled and new décor for your home. The owner and staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable about every piece in the store. It was fun to hear them explain where certain items had come from, or what they had been made from. Lamps, window treatments, small furniture, and lots of decorative items are what they specialize in at One Unique Design, and they can do custom designs. Lots of fun vintage hardware too!
The ladies working there are quite creative. They are happy to take whatever item you have and up-cycle it into something “new” and unique. Now for someone like myself, perusing this store promptly throws my brain into DIY mode, because I tend to see things and think “I can make that.” Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.
