New Businesses Open OTP

Here’s a quick round up of new restaurants and retail that have opened up or will be coming all over town. Here’s The Scoop in case you missed it…

  1. Portillos Opened 11/18 at 790 Cobb Place Blvd NW. It’s the FIRST in Georgia and the 100th store. Portillo’s has become legendary for serving up the true essence of Chicago-style cuisine. You might recall if was referenced in the Netflix Ozark series that was filmed locally as the kids favorite restaurant. What is your favorite menu item?
  2.  Eddie V Prime Seafood, an upscale fine dining restaurant from Darden Restaurants opened at 14405 Haynes Bridge Road. Darden is known for its casual dining: Olive Garden, LongHorn Steakhouse, Bahama Breeze, Seasons 52, Yard House, Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen, and Chuy’s. Their fine dining includes Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Eddie V’s Prime Seafood, and The Capital Grille. 
  3. Homesense, a sister store to HomeGoods, TJ Maxx, Marshalls and Sierra opened in Alpharetta just in time for holiday shopping! The store offers home goods, including furniture, lighting, rugs, and kitchen items, at discount prices. 
  4. Boden, the beloved British fashion brand, is opening its first-ever U.S. store at Avalon in Alpharetta next week. Situated between Reformation and Chanel, this artfully curated 2,000-square-foot space will showcase curated monthly edits of the brand’s signature womenswear.
  5. Chick-fil-A’s DayBright opened in Hiram offering juices, coffees and smoothies. I can only image how this brand will take over this category with pleasure! Daybright is a new beverage-focused concept from Chick-fil-A called Red Wagon Ventures.
  6. Bonchon Korean Fried Chicken opened in Smyrna. They have locations in Alpharetta, Fayeteville and Smyrna.
  7. A new hotel is coming to Downtown Woodstock by Southern Ventures. The landmark project will be a six-story, 130-room hotel situated directly across from the Northside Hospital-Cherokee Amphitheater, a prime location that will anchor the continued growth of Woodstock City Center. The development is set to feature multiple food and beverage venues, a spa, ground-floor retail outlets, and 5,000 square feet of meeting and event space.
  8. Tractor Supply is coming is coming to two vacant Lidl grocery stores –  one at 11956 Highway 92 and 6421 Bells Ferry Road. A Dutch Brothers coffee shop will also be opening in the old Sonic in Woodstock in 2026.
  9. Downtown Woodstock opened JD’s on Main and Paloma Tequila & Tacos opened in Adair Park.
  10. Dantanna’s Restaurant is closing on 12/6 in Buckhead. I bet a few of you have some memories from this classic ATL staple!  From their IG page: THANK YOU FOR 23 YEARS, ATLANTA -After two decades of serving the Buckhead community, we’re sad to announce that Dantanna’s Buckhead will be closing its doors for good on December 6th. In Dantanna’s style, our last day open to the public will be college football’s Conference Championship Saturday, December 6th.
