Movie Filming in Marietta Square stars Galifianakis and Banks

If I told you there is going to be a movie about Beanie Babies, would you believe me? Well, it appears our own Marietta Square was transformed into a London Toy Store and more for the movie The Beanie Bubble according to The Local Exchange and other confirmed comments on the Marietta Square Facebook page.  The working name of the movie is called Brownie for the production signs and casting.

Stars of this movie include Zach Galifianakis and Elizabeth Banks. It is based on the book, The Great Beanie Baby Bubble: Mass Delusion and the Dark Side of Cute by Zac Bissonette. Apple TV states “The Beanie Bubble” is inspired by the story behind one of the biggest speculative crazes that blazed through American culture in the ’90s. It pulls back the curtain on the absurdities and injustices of the American Dream — particularly the female relationship to it. It’s a celebration of the women who helped power Ty Warner’s success, whose strengths and good instincts shaped and amplified the phenomenon, but whose names are not on the Beanie Babies’ heart-shaped tags.

Owner of Doodlebugz, Stacy Smith, shared the London Double Decker Bus photo and this information on her business Facebook Page.

“you have to be brave to have a movie company take over your store for a few days. phew, it is an amazing process but wow it’s a lot. we have met tons of great crew works from set designers to location scouts to set design to the fabulous security guards. it’s been fun but also overwhelming at the process of everything. everything is photographed, taken down, wrapped, moved, stacked, and then put back exactly the same after the filming is complete. currently they are painting our walls red and white stripes. it’s fun!!”

In addition, dk Gallery posted photos of the Toy Store being transformed.

According to the comment feed, they also were filming a Marvel film “Ghosted” starring Chris Evans on the other side of the Square last week.
