The Marietta Daily Journal ran a story about Kroger taking over the Sears at Cumberland Mall. We are sharing their scoop.
The city commission approved the rezoning request. This is a unique concept with only a few supermarkets located inside a mall.
The planned Kroger will take up 83,000 square feet on the second floor of the existing Sears store, and Sears will be consolidating its operations to 90,000 square feet on the bottom floor of the building, Garvis Sams, the Marietta attorney representing Kroger said.
Kroger will also build a gas station at this location. Ga Followers noted that this new location is perfect for visitors of the Braves at their new SunTrust Park stadium. We have to agree and are excited about more growth coming OTP and to Marietta following the Braves’ lead!
