Peachy Pryon Sings

Update 11-30-2015: You can listen to Peachy Pryon via Soundcloud, including her version of Adele’s song Hello.

Update 7-10-2015: Excited for Peachy Pyron to be included in the Windy City Smokeout in Chicago along with Kacey Musgraves, Pat Green, Chris Young, Lee Brice and others. Way to go!

I love music. I play music at work, in the car, and through headphones while I’m working out. Music moves me, motivates me, and connects me to memories. Like most folks, I can recognize a talented musician or singer when I hear one, though it’s rare for me to come across an unknown musical artist and immediately see his or her potential, to understand that potential, and to know that this person will be a star. But this feeling was evident to me within a few minutes of watching Peachy Pyron perform.

peachy 3Peachy is a 15 year old singer-songwriter who began playing guitar at age 8. Her sound leans toward country, having been compared to Kasey Musgraves, but she has what it takes to be both a country singer and a pop star.

Peachy lives in Canton with her parents Jim and Kimberly Pyron, and she is a full time student at Cherokee High School. She divides her time between Atlanta and Nashville where she plays gigs and writes with Grammy nominated writers Clay Mills and Marty Dodson. She’s under artistic development with Jan Smith (Justin Beiber, Usher, etc.), as well as vocal coach Renee Grant-Williams.

Jan Smith remarked, “Peachy Pyron is one of the most unique stylists I’ve heard coming from a teenage voice. Her sensibilities in storytelling vocally and lyrically are well beyond her years. If you’re a fan of Rickie Lee Jones meets Nashville, this is a young artist you won’t be able to stop listening to.”

Her schedule is packed with appearances and performances; Kimberly Pyron says it’s been a challenge for Peachy to juggle school assignments while meeting the demands of her new career. But she pulls it off. She strikes me as determined, focused, and driven — while most teens spend their afternoons and weekends playing sports, video games, or hanging out with friends, Peachy is working on her craft. This young lady has a presence that her mom calls an “old soul.”

Peachy will be cutting an EP of all original songs early this fall in Nashville, and it’s looking like a big label project with some of the most sought-after studio musicians. Accompanying her on drums will be Shannon Forrest, who has been the percussionist for some of country’s biggest stars such as Luke Bryan, Tim McGraw, and Randy Travis, to name a few.

And as if that’s not exciting enough, Tom Bukovac will be lead guitar. Tom is a session guitarist and keyboardist in Nashville. He won the Music Row Magazine Session Guitarist of the Year Award five years consecutively, and the Academy of Country Music Guitarist of the Year award two times. He has played on records by artists such as Joe Cocker, Dolly Parton, Sheryl Crow, Vince Gill, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Leann Rimes, Faith Hill, Reba McIntire, Rascal Flatts, Brooks and Dunn, Gretchen Wilson, Sister Hazel, and many more. Tom was also the guitarist for Taylor Swift’s mega hit album “Red.”
