Here Comes Santa Claus…

Thurs. DEC 4 SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO MARIETTA AT 5:00 PM. And he is coming on a firetruck.  What could be more exciting for our children than to see Santa arrive with all the bells and whistles. Join Santa Claus for the kick off to the holiday season in Marietta, Thursday, Dec. 4, in Glover Park on the Marietta Square. Festivities will begin at 5 p.m. with performances by local school choruses. Santa will make his grand entrance at 5:20 p.m. and light the giant Christmas tree at 6 p.m. More entertainment will follow while Santa visits with children in the gazebo until 8 p.m.

FRI. DEC 5, SAT, DEC 6 & DEC 13 ACWORTH SANTA ARRIVAL The Acworth Downtown Development Authority is excited to present, “Christmas in Acworth”! We have many wonderful festivities planned on Sat. so that you can shop local while enjoying the season of Christmas in a quaint downtown setting. Santa will be reaching the Depot in downtown Acworth on Friday, December 5. Festivities will begin at 5:30 p.m. and Santa is scheduled to arrive at 6:30 p.m. There will be a host of live performances until 9:00 p.m. to help Santa kickoff the holiday season.

DEC 5 ALPHARETTA CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING  Alpharetta Downtown Historic District will light up at the 37th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting on Friday, December 5, 2014. Celebration will fill the downtown streets in with Musical Performances, Santa, Snow, Food Trucks, Roasting Marshmallows, Farmer’s Market and more. Alpharetta City Hall at 2 South Main Street, Alpharetta, GA 30009

FRI. DEC 6 CANTON CHRISTMAS PARADE BY THE CANTON OPTIMIST CLUB. The 27th year of this event begins at 6pm. Downtown music event begins at noon to kick of the event.  Come enjoy the parade and Santa!

SAT. DEC 6 KENNESAW SANTA DAY PARADE The City of Kennesaw will celebrate the start of the Christmas holiday season with a parade, entertainment and tree lighting program downtown at Depot Park, 2828 Cherokee Street, on Saturday, December 6, 2014. The festivities begin at noon with a parade on Main Street featuring costumed characters, designer floats, marching bands, and live reindeer pulling Santa’s sleigh. The entertainment will continue with a holiday host of activities, live music and dance performances; along with a seasonal variety of food vendors, crafts, gift and general merchandise near the Depot.  Festivities will conclude with a Christmas tree lighting program which begins at 6 p.m. Children’s activities include FREE snow tubing down “Depot Hill”, a FREE snow playground, inflatables and amusements, kid’s crafts, visits with Santa, stage entertainment, and a holiday market full of gift ideas and unique merchandise. Food vendors will be onsite.

SAT DEC 6 POLAR EXPRESS –  The Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History is bringing back its popular Polar Express Adventure event this December. The special holiday event is scheduled from 5-9 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014. The Polar Express Adventure follows the City of Kennesaw’s annual Christmas celebration, parade and tree lighting ceremony. Upon entering the Museum, attendees will meet a train conductor and a hobo before having the opportunity to create holiday crafts and watch elves make toys in their holiday shop in the Museum’sGlover Machine Works exhibit. They will also be able to meet Santa during the evening. Hot chocolate and light refreshments will be served.

SAT DEC6, CUMMING CHRISTMAS PARADE – 10:30 MARKETPLACE BOULVEARD. The parade marches on Market Place Boulevard between Buford Dam Road and Hwy. 20.
