We normally don’t report on ITP happenings, but it’s fun to be the first to share the Scoop on a new Flatbread restaurant, called FLATS!
For all you OTPers who commute downtown (and for those of you who live ITP and still love us!), here is a new quick-service restaurant that will soon be the talk of town.
Chef Robert Puerto will be opening a handcrafted flatbread restaurant and artisan juice bar in downtown Atlanta. When we originally broke the story in March, the name and logo were still going through the legal process, but it is officially called Flats, handcrafted flatbreads.
Chef Rob has worked with top restaurants such as Macaroni Grill, Moe’s, Taqueria Tsunami, Firestone Wood Fired Pizza & Grill, Soul De Cuba and Chastain Tavern.
Customers will love their handcrafted flatbreads, salads and panninis made with fresh healthy ingredients.
A feature we know we will enjoy is their artisan juice bar and gourmet coffee experience.
They contracted with OTP Chef, Scott Kinsey of Taqueria Tsunami, to develop this unique flavor full menu.
After a year of searching for the perfect space, they were excited to secure this prime location at 152 Walton Street NW in Atlanta (previously a Subway) — just blocks away from the CNN Center and Phillips Arena.
They first tested their flat bread concept in May of 2014. We were lucky enough to attend that event and were very pleased! The fresh combinations that the chefs created for both the breakfast and lunch flats, and for the oversized salads were delicious.
This restaurant will be a great addition to the downtown area serving healthy alternatives to fast food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They will be open 7 days a week.
With a slogan of “It’s FLAT out delicious, ” we are pressing them to open their next location OTP. For more restaurant, Forced Family Fun, and Retail Therapy recommendations OTP, visit our full website at Scoop OTP. We are the Insider’s guide to living Outside The Perimeter of Atlanta.
