First Watch“If having pancakes for breakfast is wrong, then we don’t want to be right” was the message of the day wrapped around our breakfast napkins at First Watch.

The daytime café is a franchise — we normally don’t write about chains, but First Watch insists that they aren’t a chain. Rather, their company facts state that they are a network of brunch restaurants serving one customer at a time. And since they have just opened up only two locations in Georgia and both are OTP, we had to scoop them out!

I have eaten at First Watch in Florida many times and was surprised and excited about their arrival OTP. Michelle and I were “Scooping” in Smyrna one day and came across the restaurant, which is literally On the Perimeter. (There is some debate as to whether we were actually in Smyrna or Vinnings — Smynnings is the new name — but we know it was OTP!) Their other location is in Johns Creek.

The name “First Watch” refers to a sailor’s first shift of the day. They chose this name because they start off each new day with their menu from scratch.

Brunch ChickichangaMy stomach was delighted with my awesome egg white omelet with spinach, Swiss cheese, avocado and salsa. Michelle enjoyed one of their famous skillet options. There were so many great choices on the menu, it was hard to choose! They have all the classics plus healthy choices, gluten free, allergens listed, and many other brunch concepts to enjoy. First Watch also has soups, salads, sandwiches, a kid’s menu and their own eggs-clusives. Scoop is a sucker for a play on words!

The staff brings a pitcher of water to the table, and if you ordered coffee you would get your very own pot of Sunrise Select Premium blend. So you don’t need to ask for refills, because they’re available right there anytime you need one. I know it seems silly, but leaving the drink carafes on the table is such a nice perk for the thirsty customer like myself.

So if you are a morning person, First Watch is a great place to work or eat. It also works out for those of you who sleep late and want to have breakfast at noon. That’s the scoop!
