The Art of Ashtanga with Jackie Reckson

Join Jackie to explore the art and experience of Ashtanga yoga. This 2 hour master class will focus on learning and incorporating the benefits of Ashtanga into a yoga practice. Informed and prepared, you will encounter a full practice of this expansive form of yoga.
Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga as taught Sri K. Pattabhi Jois is a system of postures linked together by breath and movement. This is an ancient and powerful discipline for cultivating physical, mental and spiritual health. Progressive techniques of breath, posture and movement, cleanse, stretch and strengthen the body as well as focus and calm the mind. A deeper experience of the self becomes possible through consistent practice.
Jackie will guide you thru the practice focusing on breath and alignment. We will start with the opening chant and progress thru Sun Salutations A & B, standing postures, seated postures, closing postures, Savasana and end with the closing chant. Q&A session afterwards.
